Classwork

The core of all DialoguE programmes are the 45 minute-long private lessons with DialoguE tutors, who are all intensively trained in the DialoguE Approach and experienced in teaching German to young people.

(The total number of lessons depends on the programme selected.) The emphasis is on communication and on real-life applications for the grammar participants may already have learned at school. Alternatively, we focus on exam preparation and revision: Abitur, Baccaleriate (European and International), GCSE, GCE-A Level.

Each lesson is based on a set of 'key phrases' tailored to the participant's level and needs. The phrases are recorded on audio cassette for the participant to review and practise at leisure. During the following day's classes, the phrases are reviewed again, so that they become an integral and automatic part of the participant's rapidly developing language skills.

Other Activities

Sports and cultural activities help participants to hone their practical communications skills in German. Here are some (but by no means all the) possibilities:
  1. Discovering German culture through visits to local cities, sights, and monuments.
  2. Sports: tennis, swimming, mountain biking, horse-riding, and golf are all available in and around Spa. (Note: costs, if any, not included in programme fees.)
  3. Computer activities

Participants are free to set their own afternoon programmes 'a la carte'.

Evening Activities

After dinner, participants are encouraged to take part in a cultural event with fellow participants - which could be viewing a TV programme (in German, of course) or a cinema or a theatre visit.

Dates

Courses for young adults take place during the school vacations.
